Condemnation of attack on house in Moat Road, Ballymena

Ballymena SDLP councillor Declan O’Loan has condemned that attack on a house in Moat Road in the Harryville area of Ballymena.

He said, “The Christmas spirit certainly wore off very quickly among those responsible for this action. To have a gun fired through the downstairs windows in the early hours of the morning was obviously a terrifying experience for a mother and her eight year old daughter. Indeed it will have been very alarming for all the neighbours in this quiet residential street. Fortunately no one was physically injured.

I understand that the motive is not thought to be either sectarian or racial. I hope that the police will get to the bottom of the matter as quickly as possible. I encourage full cooperation with them.”
