Farren: Election Round Up
Speaking as the
Assembly election campaign draws to a close the SDLP’s
North Antrim Campaign Manager Sean Farren said:
“This has been an
excellent campaign as far as the SDLP is concerned. Our two candidates, Declan O’Loan and Orla Black, have brought their canvass to every
part of the constituency and have been warmly welcomed on the doorsteps.
“The key messages have
been that the SDLP is essential to making the political institutions work and
that there are important jobs to be done. Voters want an end to stop-go
politics and the beginning of real politics. They don’t want to see the
institutions become a battle filed as Peter Robinson suggests.
“Instead they want to
see their every day concerns properly dealt with. That is what the SDLP wants
also.
“Voters want
improvements to the health service, to schools, to roads and above all assured
employment opportunities, especially for young people. A vote for the SDLP will
ensure that that is what the Assembly does.”
